Do I have Tidy Up Before A Housekeeper Visits?

We get a lot of clients that ask us what do have to do before a housekeeper comes to clean our home? This is a very common question. I always tell our clients whether it be a one time cleaning, or regular maid service  to make sure that you pick up clothes toys. etc from your floors before your cleaner arrives to give them a clear path, and it makes the cleaning go smoother.

 What To Do Before Your Housekeeper Arrives

1. Gather all dishes and put them in the sink. This saves on time so that the housekeeper
   doesn’t find bowls, drinking glasses, plates, etc.. everywhere in the house and have to walk
   back and forth putting the dishes in the sink.
2.  Leave instructions the day before your scheduled cleaning if you want specific things cleaned
   in the home.  Communication is  the key when you have hired a cleaning service. Call or email
   ahead of time so that there are no surprises.
3. Put all valuables way. To me this is a no brainer. If you valuable  jewelry, money lying around
   make sure all these items are put away.
4. Be present the first time your cleaner comes to clean your home so that you can get comfortable with your cleaner and you’re able to give feedback.

   Declutter a week ahead of your scheduled cleaning.  Professional cleaning companies like
   with your cleaner and to see how she cleans your home so that you can give feedback.

5. Make it clear to the housekeeper if you want them to use their cleaning supplies or yours
you may have cleaning products that you use regularly.
