Spring Cleaning Part 2

April 6, 2011 11:33 PM

We’ve covered some of the basics to get your home in tip top shape with your Spring Cleaning Tasks, so now lets move on to the detailed part of it.  First off  to get detailed with your spring cleaning, you need to learn to save time. By doing this you can make sure that you don’t get overwhelmed while cleaning your home. Here are a few tips to make sure you are getting the most of out your spring cleaning and house cleaning.

Organize Your Cleaning Supplies

For easier spring cleaning fill a bucket with your basic cleaning products, like  a all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, sponges, bathroom cleaner, microfiber cloths,  furniture polish, and rubber gloves. If you don’t wish to use a bucket you can use a apron which will leave your hands free to scrub and polish.

Powdered Cleanser Trick

Before you peel of the sticker from your cleanser take it off halfway , keeping the holes covered gives you a better flow of the cleanser coming out.  You don’t want it to come poring out!

Prevent  Mold & Mildew In Bathrooms

Be sure to all your surfaces clean in the bathroom to help prevent mildew from forming.  Try to prevent dampness as much as possible.  Mold and mildew is common for hanging out in our bathrooms, common causes are low circulation of air,  high humidity, and damp areas.  The easiest way to prevent mold and mildew  is  turn on the  bathroom fan while showering or taking a hot bath.bathroom fan while showering or taking a hot bath. You can also open the window in the bathroom as well.  When you clean your shower or tub make sure you wipe it dry when you finish cleaning it.  If you should happen to see mold or mildew forming you can use 50/50 bleach and water solution and spray it on the surface.  You may also use vinegar as well in a spray bottle to stop mold and mildew.

Walls- Cabinets- and Baseboards

You might not thinks your walls need a bath, but they do.  another area of spring cleaning that you need to tackle. Use a clean sponge and a little dish detergent ( I prefer Ivory Dish Soap)  by washing the surfaces in sections, remember not to get the sponge too soaked.  You can also use a clean sponge mop as well to wash walls.  Use two buckets one for the dish sop solution and one for wringing out your sponge.  Dry the walls and wood work with a microfiber cloth.

All of these spring cleaning tips and house cleaning tips are great to know if you have the time to do them, but like most of us with the hustle and bustle  of work, family, etc… sometimes we just can’t find the time to clean.  You can hire a maid service to come in and do your spring cleaning and house cleaning for you, that way you will have time to do the things you most enjoy!
