1. Baking soda

3. Salt and Citrus Juice

The lime juice or lemon and the salt that you have I your cabinet are not just basic ingredients for an awesome margarita. You can also make a paste to polish the silver by mixing two table morton saltspoons of common salt with a table spoon of lime juice or even lime. Polish the silver using the paste and then rub the silver with a clean dry cloth.

4. Laundry detergent

Laundry detergent used to fight off stains on cloths can also be used to tideget rid of tarnish on silver. All you have to do is dissolve some detergent in warm water and then soak the tarnished silver for about thirty minutes and then dry the silverware with a cloth.

5. Cream of tartar

This is another very good item that you can use to make a silver polishing paste out of. The complete and full name of the item is Potassium hydrogen tart rate. It is an acidic salt that work wonders when it comes to cleaning tarnished silver.

6. Ketchup

Each and every person has this in their refrigerator. The most amazing and astonishing thing ketchupis  that apart from adding flavor to food, it can be used to clean tarnished silverware. The acidity in the tomatoes is sufficient to clean the silver.

These are just some of the items that you have in your house that you can use to clean your silver. You can therefore save yourself the trouble and money you could have spent on hiring a house cleaning company.
