Soap Scum Remover

Soap scum is a combination of soap,  bacteria, and your body oils that mainly buildup on your showers and tubs.
It can be very difficult to remove if not done correctly, and without the right soap scum remover.  In this article
I will give you some of our methods for removing soap scum with our home cleaning services,we mainly use these methods we are doing a deep cleaning or a move out cleaning cleaning in a vacant house or occupied residence that has not been cleaned in a while.

As a owner of a house cleaning company we have cleaned lots of  showers and tubs but over time we have found
the right products and methods to give us great success!  Before starting to remove the soap scum test to make
sure it is soap scum and not just hard water stains.  The way to do this is scratch the surface with your fingernail
if it comes off then its soap scum, if not then its most likely hard water.

Here are some of the products I recommend as a soap scum remover:

Vinegar & Blue Dawn Dish Soap

Barkeepers Friend ( Powered)

Zep Tub & Tile Cleaner ( Home Depot )

These products are our absolute go to products when we need to remove soap scum. When these products are
used properly they can make your job easier, and with great results when trying to get that stubborn soap scum
off showers or tubs.   My all time favorite soap scum remover is Barkeepers Friend!  Put a little on a magic eraser
or scouring pad and use a couple drops of water to make as a paste scrub in a circular motion, and watch the magic!

Finally last but not least if you cant get the results you are looking for in removing the soap scum with these
methods or if you just don’t have time to do it yourself, you can always hire a house cleaning service to remove
the soap scum for you. If you are in our local service area of Rancho Cucamonga, CA or the surrounding areas you
can give us a call at (909) 696-2276
