To determine how long you will spend on house cleaning depends on a number of things, for instance your family size, and your general idea of CLEAN, meaning do you require a top to bottom spotless home? do you want your baseboards to be cleaned? do you require everything fixture in your bathroom to shine? These are some of the questions you should ask yourself before you start to make your house cleaning schedule.

Your Bedroom is a Good Place to Begin House Cleaning
Think of your bedroom as a personal starting point in your efforts to keep a tidy home. You don’t live in a hotel room, with maid service at your beckoning so it is up to you to make it a clean and comfortable place to spend much of your time. It is up to you to learn how to keep your bedroom clean.
You don’t have to make it complex. Just get started with something simple, such as making your bed. Start by removing your sheets and blankets, then turn or flip your mattress to increase its lifespan. Put fresh sheets and blankets on your mattress and change your pillow cases. Arrange all of your pillows on your comforter so that your bed looks just right.
You can proceed to your dressers and closet next. If you’re one of those people who takes a while to choose the right clothes, you probably have some clutter to refold or rehang. Search all around and behind everything for clothes that may have fallen. Take the time to do it right from the start and everything will look just right when you finish.
Make sure you put dirty clothes in with your laundry instead of putting them away. While you’re doing this, take note of any clothing you haven’t worn in the last year. If you don’t intend to wear those clothes soon, donate them or put them in storage. If they are something you intend to wear soon, try them on to see if they still fit. Donate any clothes that don’t fit you anymore.
Next, you need to tackle your shelving. Don’t just dust the shelves in your room; remove any items that you don’t need. Cluttered shelves make your room less efficient and less attractive. Put the items you remove in boxes as you go, either for donation or storage.
As bad as garbage may be in other rooms, if you want to keep your room fresh and clean you need to make sure the garbage doesn’t pile up in your bedroom. If you allow stuff to pile up and linger in your bedroom, you’ll soon have a lot of useless stuff cluttering the room.
Begin House Cleaning in the bedroom as a small step to a clean house. House cleaning doesn’t take too long and isn’t an overwhelming chore when you do it one step at a time. You’re personally responsible for your house, so it is up to you to keep it clean.

If your kitchen is organized in the first place, it will be much easier for you and anyone else that cooks in your kitchen to find the tools they need and to put them away. If the measuring cups always hang from the same hook or go in the same drawer, you will know right where they are when you want to bake that delicious batch of chocolate chip cookies.
Take a few minutes every day to clean the clutter out of the kitchen. If you take a few minutes to pick up your kitchen every day, clutter won’t take over your kitchen. Plus, your kitchen tools and utensils will be stored in appropriate places, and make cooking easier and more pleasant for everyone.
One way to keep the kitchen looking clean is to put clean dishes in cupboards right away. In that way you can keep dirty dishes rinsed and stored in the dishwasher until is time to wash dishes. The dirty dishes are out of sight, no suspicious smells linger in the kitchen, and when the dishwasher is full, the dishes can be washed. Your kitchen still looks great even if you have unwashed dishes. If you get in the habit of starting the dishwasher at night and emptying it in the morning, you can have clean dishes when you need them and a clean, empty sink all of the time.
Have a good supply of paper towels around for quick clean ups in the kitchen. Many people like to use washcloths and sponges when they clean their kitchen. These articles can contain and spread germs. Paper can be recycled, so if you buy paper towels made from recycled materials, you don’t have to worry about polluting the environment by adding to the amount of material in your local landfill, as well.
A great solution for cleaning your microwave is lemon juice or vinegar. Take 2 tablespoons of lemon juice or vinegar and mix it with 4 cups of water in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the solution and bowl on high power for three minutes, and wipe your microwave clean.
If your sink drain is moving slowly, pour ½ cup of baking powder down the drain. Then pour ½ cup of white vinegar down the drain. After this combination has had a chance to fizz in the sink drain for a while, pour at least 8 cups of boiling water down the drain to rinse it out.
If your kitchen faucet has mineral or lime deposits on it, you can remove them easily using common household products. Soak paper towels in white vinegar, then wrap these soaked towels around the faucet. The towels sit on the faucet for about an hour. Your faucets will be easy to clean and sparkle.

Popular FAQs About Home Cleaning Services
Popular FAQs About Home Cleaning Services
Common sense should dictate what questions to ask when choosing home cleaning services. You want reliable people who will do a good job and won’t rob you blind. But there are a million other details to think about, too. Here are a few other questions that are frequently asked:
Do you bring your own cleaning supplies? Most cleaning services will bring their own cleaning products, from soap to furniture wax to glass cleaner. But some will ask that you supply brooms, mops, buckets and vacuums. Establish who’s responsible for what.
Do you do laundry? Consider yourself lucky if you find a cleaning service that will wash your clothes. You may have to leave special care instructions and your own detergent.
Do I have to be at home? Often, a licensed and bonded company will have a key or can be let in by special arrangement. Usually, the cleaning company comes in while you’re at work. But if you are at home they should certainly be able to work around you.
What about pets? Many people have pets and this is not generally a concern. It may take more time for your cleaner to vacuum furniture and sweep to remove pet hair. However, if your pet is anxious around strangers or if you dog has been specially trained to guard your home, please ensure they are in an enclosed area such as an outdoor dog run or crate to ensure their safety and the safety of the cleaning staff.
How can I pay? This is a critical piece of information. If they come to your home on a regular weekly or bi-weekly or even monthly basis, the company may want a credit card or cash pre-payment. If it’s a one-shot contract, say if you’re moving out of your residence, likely they’ll need to be paid before they leave the premises.
What’s your cancellation policy? If circumstances dictate that you must cancel your cleaner, due to family illness or financial difficulties, find out if they need 24 or 48 hours to cancel. You don’t want to be billed for services you didn’t require.
Make Money By Running Home Cleaning Services
Make Money By Running Home Cleaning Services
Start your entrepreneurial empire by opening home cleaning services. You don’t need a degree in business or expensive education to get up and running. All you need is the desire to succeed and a plan.
With many women either out in the workplace, volunteering or spending time with small children, the demand for home cleaning services is rising. Many find it an essential service rather than a luxury.
The first thing you need to do is decide which niche you’re going to fill. Who is your customer? Do you want to attract the middle class living in homes that are 2400 square feet and smaller or are you prepared to tackle big jobs in the upper class homes? these customers may have more disposable income but may be more demanding in what they want you to clean. Determine who your customer is.
Once you know what customer you want to attract, develop a strategy on how to serve these people. What products do you need to purchase? Who will supply the cleaning tools, such as brooms, mops, vacuums etc? Develop a list of what your service will include and determine a price list. Check out what potential competitors charge and price your services accordingly. Start aggressively and undercut the competition until you establish yourself and your service.
That’s the easy part. The next part is more challenging but rewarding, and that’s marketing your business. Once you find your first few clients, word of mouth will help spread the news, as long as you do good work. Flyers delivered through the mail or dropped off door to door are a great start. That’s the cheapest way to start advertising, although experts say you get just a 2% return on direct mail investment. Door knocking is another way – all that will cost you is your time.
Hiring a great team is another hurdle to developing your business. You may start just with yourself and some family members. The more quality people you can find, the larger your team, the more homes you can clean in one day. But be meticulous in your hiring practices because one lazy employee can mar your reputation.
